Fixing Squeaky Shocks
To be honest, it wasn't so much a fix as it was a band-aid. During especially hot days the shocks on the passenger side of my XJ8 seem to squeak quite a bit. To try and buy myself some time I got some silicone lubricant to spray on, in, and around the shock absorber after removing the tire. In the end it was a mild improvement, but didn't completely solve the squeak. On cooler days it's almost not an issue at all though, so I'm not too concerned as summer is fading out. It was a $6 temporary/partial fix though, and in the world of Jaguar ownership that's not bad.
