Winter Road to Regina

Over the course of a 1000km round trip drive to Regina, Saskatchewan for the New Years weekend, I had a lot of fun behind the wheel of my Jaguar.  The roads were clear, the scenery was relaxing, and I had no shortage of new albums to listen to.  It was a great road trip and here are some of the pictures to prove it.

  1. Nice pics. Reminds me of my trans Canada drive about 10 years ago. Worked in Ottawa then. Bought an xj8 (MY2000) myself 2 months ago. So far everything is great although a bit worried about the infamous timing chain tensioner issue.

My own personal favorite is xj6 series 1 MY's -68-73. Before this Jags were still getting there, after this they kind of lost their grip. Maybe the xjs as an exception. My wife insisted on a more modern car. And comparing top other modern cars the xj8 is still a beauty...

  2. I'm a fan of XJ's in general. The XJ6's look so lean in comparison to the XJ's of the late 2000s. All beautiful cars though, and I've loved my '99 so far.

I've been a bit worried about the tensioner issue myself, but I've already dealt with the throttle problem, a leaky coolant system, and a handful of other smaller problems. I figure I'll notice a change in the way the car sounds before the tensioners go, but I also just want to enjoy the car so I do my best to not get myself frustrated about something that hasn't happened. You have to figure that all of the comments on forums are dominated by people who have had negative experiences so it's easy to get swept up. Happy driving :)
