Salvaged Throttle Body

For the last month or so I've been doing a lot of experimenting.  Having been through the whole process of the throttle position sensor going bad last year, I've become a seasoned veteran when it comes to dealing with this faulty part.  Most recently it was the throttle motor that went, and so I did a full throttle body replacement with a salvaged part.  That wasn't quite good enough though as the sensor then started getting buggy again, so I switched that too.

I've got one more complete salvaged throttle body as a spare that I bought on eBay.  I tell you, I never realized what a hassle this problem would turn out to be, but I'm at least feeling confident now that I know the ropes.  The problem of course is that a brand new part is around $1800 and I've been lucky at finding salvaged parts for between $200-$300.  The problem is that it's a gamble.  The last one was only good for about 5 months, and so I've had to go through all this hassle again.

It's a bit nerve racking because the car's computer has to learn the part, and it's been a bit glitchy for the last few weeks.  It's been readjusting itself and seems like it's getting better and better though. I have my fingers crossed, and at least I have another spare part should I need it now.  I never realized how much of a mechanic I'd become after buying this car, but in a weird way, it makes me appreciate it more.
