The XJS is probably the only truly ugly car Jaguar ever made. It was ugly at the time--everyone agreed--and time has not been kind to it either. Its truly repellent appearance was matched only by the appalling British Leyland build quality of the time. It will not be missed.
I have to disagree, despite the obvious reliability issues, I think the XJS has become more attractive with time. The long bonnet and slopping rear arches make it a stand out in my opinion. Even on Top Gear it was largely applauded for looking better and more dramatic now, than when it was built.
